Each year over 4,000 women lose their lives to cervical cancer  .

Cancer of the cervix still kills 4,600 women in the United States and some 2,000 women in Britain each year and more than twice as many under the age of 35 than it did 15 years ago.

World wide cervical cancer is the number 2 killer of women.  

Early detection is key in survival rates for those diagnosed with cervical cancer. If detected early there is a 72% survival rate

Cervical cancer is caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). There are 250 known strains of the virus, but it is believed only 2 strains cause 70% of all cervical cancer.
